Tom's Greenhouse, Goshen NY
I worked for a local business who specializes in growing plants. All they needed was some help with the hardscaping. I constructed a series of natural stone walls using recycled foundation stones from a 200 year old barn foundation. There were old chisel and cut marks on the stone, which added to the authenticity on this project. I also built dry laid retaining walls and a natural "Stonescapes" consisting of a tree well, stone seat, dry laid steps, flagstone patio and a cut stone wall with 6" blue stone caps. They followed me and planted a natural selection of plants that brought out the rustic beauty of stone.
Phil Milo/Builder PB Majestic Homes, Mamakating NY
This was the first home in an exclusive community in upstate NY. I installed 3,500 square foot of cultured stone on this 10,000 square foot home. Included in this were two fireplaces, one double sided with a standing height of 30 feet. I also constructed brick paver walkways and a pool patio with over 3,700 square foot of space. On this patio I built a fire pit, stone barbeque and installed a custom stone coping on the edge of his pool. This project was chosen as a finalist in the 2010 Sullivan Showcase Awards for best residential construction.
The Feasley Residence Port, Jervis NY
These owners bought a 200+ year old home with multiple buildings and barns on site and were told to tear it down to the ground and rebuild. They found the right contractor who was able to bring it back to life. I was asked to restore and design various pieces of this property starting with an authentic mumford fireplace restoration. Over the course of five years I have restored two brick fireplaces, a brick chimney, a stone front stoop and brick piers, as well as new installations of mortared stone walls, blue stone/travertine patio and of recent, a stone facade on a rejuvenated barn. This home sits on a registered historical site next to the Neversink River.
The Vanderbush Family, Goshen, NY
This is my largest natural stone project to date. It took nine months to complete. It started with a simple sidewalk repair, two years prior and developed into a vision of creativity. There was no architect or designer here. I collaborated with the homeowner and designed a plan that gave them privacy as well as function. I used Blue Stone for all the walls, steps and patio. Since the site sat on an underground stone ledge, I had to jackhammer the site level before we could even work. The walls were built 8' tall at their tallest and gave the homeowner the privacy they desired.
